HELLO Friends in Anchorage (and all across Alaska)

HELLO Friends in Anchorage (and all across Alaska)

I see you visiting my little corner of the internet, even if your connection sometimes shows up as “Anchorage” because of how internet routing works. Whether you’re in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, or tucked into one of Alaska’s beautiful smaller communities, I want you to know I’m waving hello from Iowa—where I’m currently melting. I know you’re preparing for colder seasons ahead. Your weather, your daylight, and your daily needs are wonderfully different from the Midwest, and I want to honor that.

If you’re browsing a mainland American catalog, you may not always find clothing that matches your climate or your kids’ routines, but I’m here to bridge that gap with options that actually work for your world.

(For those in Florida, hi family! Or in California- love you, guys. And for those on the islands- Aloha! Yes, you may read this message and request that I adapt to your needs, too.)

Let Me Know What Your Kids Need This Season - your way.

Layering is essential everywhere, but especially where temperatures swing between indoor warmth and outdoor chill. I can adapt any of my designs into short‑sleeve or long‑sleeve shirts, and I’m more than happy to take special orders. Adapting a special order for families is easier than guessing what is happening across time zones.

  • I’m also adding sweatshirts—both pull‑on and zip‑front styles—and I’d love to hear which works best for your family.
  • I can personalize items with names if you’d like, but I also understand that in larger towns and cities, many parents prefer not to display their child’s name publicly for safety reasons.
  • Either way, I’ll respect your preferences and make sure your kids stay comfortable, cozy, and confident in what they wear.

Children love animals, so my designs focus on critters that are often popular to study in pre-school.

  • Ask your kids to write me a list of what animals they want to wear on shirts that live in your neck of the woods. Yes, get the kids involved in making choices. They can send me a handwritten letter in the mail and a snapshot or a video. Mom and dad, whatever you feel is most appropriate to communicate their wishes.

This is my second Shopify ecommerce store and is still in the start-up phase. And since I'm the boss, I listen to what families need rather than a corporate board.

If you’re reading this from Anchorage or anywhere across Alaska, I’d love to hear from you.

  • Your seasons, your daylight, your rhythms — they’re beautifully different from mine here in Iowa, and your insight helps me create clothing and gifts that truly fit your world.
  • No obligation at all.
  • We all need to dream and plan ahead, and your voice helps me shape designs that feel right for your kids, your weather, and your daily life. If you have a moment, let me know what styles or layers work best for your family this time of year. I’m listening, and I’m happy to adapt anything you see in my store.

And whether you’re bundled up against the early chill or enjoying one of those golden Alaskan evenings, I’m sending a warm hello from the Midwest — grateful that our paths crossed today.

Malika
