Q. Is this store owner‑operated?
.Yes — this store is owner‑operated. Malika Bourne personally creates every product, honoring family heritage, American history, and the human stories that shaped both.
Q. Are your store's products home-made/ hand-made?
A. No, our intentional gifts are not home-made. For the most part, they are handled individually and not mass-produced.
- Currently, we offer a small inventory of items manufactured at our home office, such as music boxes and distressed wooden decor boxes, which are shipped from there. A variety of gifts will be embellished or personalized with a loving touch by Malika.
- POD Print-on-Demand: Most of our catalog features our POD gifts. All of the designs are Malika's unique original art - never copied, but could be coincidentally similar. Yes, AI apps are used to complete the designs in the digitalized printing process. Your order is not printed until your order.
Q. Is the artwork original artwork or AI?
A. Designs are from the imagination of Malika Bourne. Malika's ideas are written as prompts to an artificial application under her name, with all copyrights credited to her through the paid service contract. The use of AI in the designs keeps the cost to a minimum for our customers.
For questions, please ask. Blog posts, written by Malika Bourne under the pseudonym No Non-cents Nanna, are scheduled for publication in late June 2026 and address her philosophy on the use of AI. Malika's background is in photography. She does pencil sketches.
How long do orders take to ship
Most items ship within 2–5 business days after POD printing.
Custom or personalized items may take slightly longer, depending on design approval.
Orders that are not POD are shipped from the home office by noon on weekdays.
Do you accept returns or exchanges
Because many items are made to order, returns and exchanges are limited.
Please contact us if there is an issue with your order, including a photo. Do not contact the POD printer, as they cannot help you. Malika, the store owner, will personally help make it right for you.

Do you offer personalization or custom team designs?
A. Yes. We offer simple text personalization, custom small graphics, and full back designs for teams and special events.
Personalization starts at $7 per shirt, with a one-time $7 setup fee per design.

Q. Do you ship outside the US?
No, the boutique does not sell or ship out of the United States. At this time, the paperwork and procedures are not something this solopreneur chooses to add to her workload.
Q. What are your store hours?
Malika Bourne Legacy is an e-commerce boutique open 24/7.
Since this is a one-woman-with-disabilities boutique, Malika will be personally available during normal business hours in the Chicago time zone. (There is no staff.)
How quickly are messages answered via the contact form?
During business hours, Malika makes every effort to answer shortly after a message comes through. However, life happens; please allow up to 48 hours for a response.
