The Box Without a Song — A Jewelry Chest That Inspires Her Own Tune
🦄✨ Did you have a magical music box as a little girl? ✨🦄
Many little girls over the last three to five generations have longed for a jewelry box that played music.
I think it was more of a colorful, compact, and organized compartment with the magic music that captivated us, aspiring young ladies. Few of us had any real jewelry to put in it, but that's alright - we had imagination.

The above picture and othe product pictures came with the product. These are models, not my family. Most images I create I do a face swap with my family's faces. Let me know if you can spot those beautiful faces.
While curating the product pages, I realized I had not finished publishing both unicorn jewelry boxes — and a few dozen other treasures made of wood or glass. So, tonight I am making up for that by featuring music boxes in my blogs.
Check out the Music Box collection On Malika Bourne Legacy.

If you don't see on with the message, a love letter, that conveys the words you want to express with your gift, please allow Malika to "brain storm' with you and create a message to be exchanged with th eone that comes under glass with the treasure box.

But this one? It is a queen of music boxes in most little girls' fantasies. - It is real eye catcher!
As we grow older our tastes change. Do you think your own mother would treasure a petite music box to hold her rings in, and one day pass it on to a grandchild?
My grandmother, Hulda, had a gold plate round box that had face powder in it. I don't want to think about how many times that I turned over that precious contraction to wind the key and I spilled Grandmother's pink face powder all over the dress scraf.

(Do you see that heart locket hanging from the hook inside the large unicorn jewelry box? Look no further... your little girl will be so thrilled to open which ever music box you have chosen for her, when he catches sight of her own heart pendant. You will love the heart necklace collection I have on display from ShineOn. Some can be personalized.)

You know what I'm talking about... don't you?
Now, I have one question for all the mommies, aunties, grandmas, and grown-up girls:
Did you have a musical jewelry box when you were little?
Was it filled with tiny treasures—or did you overwind the key to hear the music again and again?
Did you watch the ballerina twirl, or the unicorn spin, and feel like magic was real?
💬 Tell me about your jewelry box.
If you didn’t have one—how did that feel?
Did you imagine one? Borrow a sister’s? Make your own out of shoeboxes and dreams?
🎁 Why Music Boxes? A Legacy Rooted in Story...
✨ At Malika Bourne Legacy, I carry dozens of music boxes not just for their beauty, but because they echo the story of little Anna character as written by me, author Malika Bourne.
They remind us that even when the world forgets to give us music, we can still find our voice.
In case you missed it, Malika Bourne Legacy, my store's niche, revolves around my first novel, The Secrets of the Unwritten Book, published in 2010.
(The announced publication of the revision has had some delays... and a real life twist that is currently under investigation. So after Christmas, The Secrets of the Unwritten Book will be broken down into smaller episodes and come out in ebook form with colorful images.)

In the image below, that is my sister Kathy with one of my doll's and I. Let's imagine that my character Anna is depicted by the younger of the two girls in the photo.
(By the way, my sisters and I own the copyright on this 1953 Christmas card photo by Ken Rene Studio, our late father.)

In The Secrets of the Unwritten Book, one of the short stories about little Anna, the protagonist, growing up with a loving guardian angel, is about ...... one unforgettable Christmas morning, all the girl cousins received music boxes—each with a twirling ballerina, a melody, and a mirror that caught the sparkle in their eyes.
The room was filled with laughter, wonder, and the kind of joy that only childhood can hold.
But Anna’s music box was different.
No ballerina.
No winding key.
No song...And yet… that plain and silent box stirred something deeper in little Anna.
When that quiet, gray box didn’t play a tune—
Her guardian angel whispered, " Anna make your own song."
The balerina music globe the image represents any little girl's fantasy.
What ever keepsake box you intentionaly select for her, will be the prefect one because it was given in love.

Inspired by Anna’s quiet music box, this original song invites you to hear the tune she carried within. Copyright Malika Bourne 2025.
Dancing in Circles: A passionate yet innocent waltz driven by breathy vocals, pulsing piano chords emulating a heartbeat, and swirling violins, Gentle strings accentuate the melody, instrumental interludes evoke a dance, balancing intimacy and uplifting warmth throughout each section
With a bit of help from a 'friend', I wrote a song for the story. This song is published on Suno.com Instead of sharing the song written for the novel, I will share the music I wrote to celebrate Anna's resilience. 🎶 Listen on Suno
I hope you dance! Please let me know.... who danced with you?
