My alias/pen name is Malika Bourne, and I started this cozy shop. What you're gazing at is my leading lady, Queen Malika. This picturesque character features my mug pasted onto a computer-generated body.

As a scribbler of stories, I aimed to showcase my printed tales and the countless unpolished, typo-filled manuscripts. But a ho-hum setup wouldn't do!
In short order, this Shopify website will be more of a storybook land where I can promote my books. (Harry Potter nudged me to be true to myself and open a shop where the underserved can feel welcome to browse at their sizes and interests rather than trend in fashion doll sizes and bright pink plastic interests.... I'm still working on it...

This e-commerce boutique has been open since November, but it will officially launch on New Year's Eve.
At last, the Malika Bourne Catalog for the current inventory is underway, with approximately 200 print-on-demand products created. To have a catalog, items need to have at least mock-up images first. I am about to enter each one manually into the computer program. That way, I can double-check for my famous typos and get things in tip-top shape to reappear on Pinterest in good standing.

Malika Bourne Legacy is not my first little Mom & Pop family shop.
Back in the 1980, I owned and operated Nancy's Fancy, in Eastdale Mall, in Iowa City, Iowa. My family pitched in.
I then went back in to working as an RN with work in the Early Childhood Education and Developmental Disabilities settings, including Head Start.
Then, around 2014 or 2015 I opened my first e-commerce store focused on kid-friendly costume parts and play things: Heart Felt Play Store. One of my grandchildren, Sophie-Do-it, was my inspiration and sidekick helper. If you are active on Pinterest, you will see many old PINS from Heart Play Store.
Malika Bourne Legacy still has fantastic playthings for the kids, that are in my home office inventory - not Print-On-Demand. I have not gotten around to taking the photos and writing the descriptions yet.
