Good morning, America, wherever you are!

Our small world is a busy place. I cluttered up the above banner to make one picture instead of 1,000 characters that describe how far and how fast we can connect across thousands of miles in mere seconds. This blog reaches out to folks in our 50 American States and a dozen territories.

The blog also includes a shout-out to our active-duty and deployed U.S. military moms and dads.

My goal is to update the current weather images on this page regularly. I want my boutique visitors to know that I am human and I care about what is happening in your neck of the woods. For a loved one temporarily far away from loved ones, thinking about the weather and whether little Johnny remembered to grab a jacket... well, it is something that resonates with parents and grandparents more often than a child realizes.

Why? 

• Because the weather affects our lives in so many ways, and talking about the weather is 'neutral'.
• The United States and territories are a huge area with multiple time zones and weather events happening simultaneously. 
• Hazardous weather creates bottlenecks in moving goods and services from east to west and west to east.
• Do we wear long sleeves or short sleeves? Should I get an extra hoodie to wear when I visit Grandma?
• We are all connected to each other as Americans.
• This entrepreneur loves to connect and find out what I can create for your kids to wear in the area that you live. My line is growing- inch by inch, but not as fast as some kids grow.

 

 

Notes from Malika on the other business side of the tech screen.

 HI, I'm working from the admin side of Malika Bourne Legacy.

Glancing with one eye, I love to watch the little map that Shopify gives me to see what state everyone is popping in from. 

• Sometimes the names of your hometown flash by so fast, I don't catch the spelling. Yikes!
• This morning I learned to spell Waipahu and Ooltewah - maybe. Did I spell those right?
• Yes, I, Malika Bourne, the creative human brain behind Malika Bourne Legacy, do use Artificial Intelligence to create images and manage these new fangled apps.
• Yes, Malika Bourne Legacy, living in a world of technology, still reaches out with a human touch. (That is another blog.)

I want to reach out to let you know that most days I am nearby my laptop to help you with questions about my quirky one-woman boutique. Then there are days when a 30-minute errand lasts past snack and lunchtime, and my message dinger is going crazy - all alone...heavy sigh.

Looking up on the tech screen: I see...

Good morning, Broomfield, Cheyenne, Shreveport, Seattle, Anchorage, Omaha, Las Vegas, Colorado Springs, LA, Temecula, Boston, Easly,.... and I'm just beginning to reach out to say, "Hello. America."

A special shout-out to our American servicemen and women; you are always on my heart. (I include our veterans who still serve our country quietly in other areas. You know who you are.)

Note to ACTIVE DUTY US Military Personnel: I hear you...

In the early years of 2000, my daughter was an active duty member of the armed forces deployed to another continent. I dreamed of the day when we could communicate via the internet. She was lucky just to get essential care packages to her roadside quarters.

Sometimes active-duty parents want to send a personalized gift to their children or spouse. I know there are many e-commerce businesses on the World Wide Web that are more than willing to take your order. (Yum-yum, I recall when my daughter's deployed husband sent home chocolate-covered fruit that someone had to help her eat...)

I can personalize t-shirts and other POD items. My specialty is Face-Swapping. I do it all the time... Well, I am no longer cute and cuddly looking... I don't do selfies to post on my place of business.

I have music boxes and journals, to name a few things in my in-home inventory. I am more than happy to attach a special note or include a little puffy heart AND gift wrap for you at no extra charge. I am a creative problem solver... [What e-commerce merchant will help deployed US soldiers? That is me- within reason or a wise old woman.]
